Love, Honor & Respect: How to Confront...
|
Want to get married; Commit yourself to one another in Holy Union, Confess, be baptized, share in Holy Communion, But you've been divorced or are in love with someone of the same sex and are afraid your minister or priest will judge you? What did Jesus say?Jesus taught a message of love, acceptance, and forgiveness. Christ believed that the Gospel was for everyone not for only a few. Yet, the Church has frequently prevented some people from participating completely in the life of Christianity. Often the message of love and grace has been turned into fear and guilt. The church has judged gay people and those who have been divorced by not allowing them to marry even though Jesus warned against judging others. Yet, you do not have live under guilt and shame, you can find the grace of God through the Gospel and Sacraments without reservation. There are those within the Church who know the truth that God's grace, and therefore each and every Sacrament, is for everyone. Those churches who forbid people all of the Sacraments because of gender, race, financial status, familial status, sexual orientation, past divorce, or for any reason have failed to bring the true message of Jesus to our modern age. In truth, all of the Sacraments are for all the people. Divorcee's, gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgender people, and non-traditional families all are offered the Sacraments by a minister with valid Holy Orders in Durham, NC.
The Sacraments are for you!
Let us know how we can offer ministry to you.
